A reminder that tomorrow is a special concert featuring a local band that was recently inducted into the Iowa Rock’n’Roll Hall of Fame.

The Bushmen performed in the 1960s with band members David Williamson, Roger Dunlop, David Baller and Bruce Bannister. Williamson describes what they wanted to accomplish as a band back then, and that all four of them are still doing today.

“We were quite a controversial thing in Jefferson at the time (with) the hair, the outfits, the loud music, all of that. We’re a business. And the four of us that were in that rock and roll band today are still all self-employed business people. So for us, it was more about business than it was creating a big brew-haha in the community.”

The Bushmen will bring that “loud sound” back to Jefferson tomorrow at the Thomas Jefferson Gardens for a free concert at 2pm. The public is invited to attend.
