On Saturday the downtown streets were packed in Stuart to see who would walk away with a special classic car. With hundreds gathered in front of the Stuart Pocket Park, Scoop the Loop Chairman Bob Cook drew Jordan Jensen’s name out of the large bowl. The Audubon man was awarded the 1954 Pontiac Chieftain donated by Karl Chevrolet of Stuart.

The drawing capped off the third and final Scoop the Loop of the 2018 season. Cook, who seemed overwhelmed by the amount of positive support from the community, says he couldn’t have done this alone. “We’ve been supported by the City (and) the businesses. We have great sponsors. We have a wonderful team. I just got to tip the hat to all those people because this is a great team effort, all volunteers, and it seems to have brought a lot of fun to the community.”

In addition to the drawing, several awards were given out, including the Stuart Royalty Award which was given out by a family of past local homecoming kings and queens. The dates for next year have already been announced. The rolling car show will hit the downtown streets next year on June 1st, July 20th, and September 7th.
