The Perry School Board will convene Monday evening in regular session.
The meeting will start with the retiring of the previous year’s Board and the election of new officers. They will also set the time and day for Board meetings, which for several years have been on the second Monday of each month at 6 p.m. Next, they will decide which Board members will serve on committees and serve as delegates for the current school year. Following that, the school principals will each give reports on the start of the new year, and Superintendent Clark Wicks will report on some recent meetings and events.
In general business, the Board will consider an agreement for architect services with SVPA for the industrial technology and wrestling room projects. They will also discuss two agreements with AmeriCorps relating to the GearUp program, one for data sharing, and the other for a host site. Next, the Board will discuss priorities they will express to Iowa lawmakers for the 2019 legislative session. Other items on the agenda include: approval of the School Budget Review Committee’s (SBRC) allowable growth request for any special education deficits; a change order for the Dewey Field renovation; a master form and contracts for games and officials; allowing electronic signatures for activities and accounts; and a food service agreement for the Perry Child Development Center.
The meeting is open to the public and will be held Monday at 6 p.m. in the high school’s Brady Library.
