Panorama’s homecoming week got off to a good start Sunday with the Iron Games and the announcement of this year’s court.

The Iron Games featured the Iron Man Volleyball and Iron Women Football competitions. Senior Class President Morgan Johnk, who scored two touchdowns in the senior girls’ 20-0 win over the underclassmen, really enjoys that aspect of homecoming week. “It’s really fun. This is my favorite thing to do. I like it a lot. I definitely like that we’re taking more time to get to do the Iron Man Volleyball and the football.”

Following the football game, this year’s five homecoming queen and king candidates were announced. This year’s queen candidates include: Johnk, along with Bailey Beckman, Kennedy Kuta, Bryn Steffen, and Jaelyn Waddle. The king candidates are: Trey Cobb, Dylan Douglass, Spencer Hunt, Noah Kirtley, and Levi Richey.

While the coronation is usually held at its own event during the week, the Student Council decided to move the crowning to halftime of Friday’s football game against Central Decatur. Student Council Advisor Kylee Boettcher hopes the community will receive the change positively. “Hopefully a lot more community members come and past alumni come back and see that because it’s going to be a first time in Panorama history. I hope people come out and support that and I hope the rain stays away.”

• Best Decorated Car Contest

• 4 PM JH/Varsity Conference meet Home @Lake Panorama West (Par 3)

• 4 PM JH Football @ Madrid

• 4PM JH VB @ Madrid

• 6:00PM Homecoming 5K @Lake Panorama West (Par 3): Register at the event. (proceeds go to Panorama Cross Country team)

Friday September 14:

District Dress Up Day: Home is where the heart is. (Panther Pride/Spirit Day).

• 11:30 AM-Rally Run starts (cross country runners will run the game ball from

Central Decatur High School to Panora…updates all day)!

• Student Council Cook-Out for staff and students during school lunch!

• 2:30 PM-Elementary Pep Rally, Circle Drive.

• 2:55 PM-MS/HS Pep Rally in the HS Gym.

• Best Class Banner Contest (displayed at football game)

• 6:30 PM Rally Run ends at mid-field and presentation of game ball.

• 7 PM Varsity Football vs. Central Decatur (Homecoming Game)

• Halftime Show: Coronation & Panorama High School Marching Band

Saturday, September 15:

8-11 P.M. High School Homecoming Dance (9th-12th) in HS commons (use West Entrance):

• Music by Steve’s Mobile Music.

• Admission: $5.00

• Out-of-Town guests needs to be registered with the office by September 14.

• No admittance into dance after 9PM & no reentering.
