While students in the Panorama Community School District enjoy their homecoming festivities this week, another area school will be celebrating theirs next week. Homecoming at West Central Valley begins on Sunday.
The week kicks off with the pep rally and coronation from 5-7pm at the high school athletic complex in Stuart. In addition, the evening schedule includes the annual senior football jersey auction. Admission to the event is free and a meal of hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, and drinks will also be available for $5
The homecoming court has also been announced. Queen candidates are: Olivia Becker, Sophie Bower, Meg Dredge, Grace Marks, and Haley Nizzi. The king candidates are: Jacob Jones, Korbin Nourse, Cole Sackett, Brice Sechrist, and Carson Wadle.
New this year is the homecoming parade beginning at 2pm next Friday with a community pep rally to follow at Jeff Pease Gymnasium. The parade route will begin at Stuart Elementary and end at the gymnasium. Any community group or business interested in having a float in the parade should contact the high school for more information. The night ends with the home football game against Mt. Ayr, with kickoff set for 7pm, followed by the homecoming dance. Students can also enjoy daily dress-up days.
