panoraThe Panora City Council met in regular session Monday.

The Council discussed the endorsement of the Lenon Mill Dam Waterway project and a Low-head Public Hazard Program application. They approved the endorsement and application for the program, which is facilitated by Region XII Council of Governments.

They then discussed an agreement with Guthrie County for the use of the Transfer Station. Mayor Patrick Parker explained his reservations for a uniformed per-capita rate at the station of $20, as the City is currently paying $16 per capita. Parker plans to invite Transfer Station Executive Director Jotham Arber to a future Council meeting to present the full 28E agreement. He also pointed out the plan will be five years and would go into effect July 1, 2019 if approved.

The meeting concluded with an update from City Electrician Doug Long on underground utility improvements. No formal action was taken on the update.
