2018 ADM Homecoming King and Queen

A blowout victory over Boone proved a fitting cap for what was a great Homecoming Week for Adel-DeSoto-Minburn High School.

The theme for the year was “Tigers get Tropical,” which was utilized with each dress-up day and the decorations around the school. Aside from the football game, the big event for the week was once again Tiger Fest, which brought thousands of people to the school for an evening of activities. Included in that was the Homecoming parade on Tiger Drive, followed by the coronation of the Homecoming King and Queen, which was heard live on Raccoon Valley Radio. This year’s royalty was Nick Bradshaw and Bri Powers. Following the announcement, the ADM students took part in the annual powder puff football games.

The varsity football game against Boone was Friday night, and the week wrapped up with the Homecoming dance Saturday evening in the middle school commons. Queen Bri Powers said her favorite part of the week is the excitement and camaraderie of the football game. “I think it’s the most fun game of the year. I mean everyone’s super hyped up, and it’s exciting. Everyone gets super dressed up and decked out in facepaint and everything, so it’s awesome to see everyone!” For King Nick Bradshaw, Homecoming week is both fun and relaxing. “A lot of people get really excited for it. And teachers kind of lay back a little bit!”

School organizers felt everything went smoothly, and they believe everyone enjoyed themselves. In case you missed listening to the coronation ceremony or football game, you can find them on demand at RaccoonValleyRadio.com.
