jefferson-public-libraryThe annual Fall Used Book Sale starts this weekend at the Jefferson Public Library.

This Saturday, the book sale will be open to the Friends of the Library members. Items for sale include: large print books, mysteries, romance, cookbooks, history, inspirational fiction, and children’s books. Other items are DVDs, jigsaw puzzles, games, and audio books. Friends memberships are $5 for individuals and $10 for a family.

Starting Sunday, September 23rd through next Saturday, September 29th, the book sale will be open to the public, with no admission charge. The final day of the sale, the Friends will give anyone a brown paper bag to fill with books for $4, with all other items and specially marked books sold at half price. Library Director Jane Millard encourages everyone to check out the Used Book Sale.

“This is our major fundraiser for the year. It puts wonderful books in the hands of people who are readers, and thinking of giving books as gifts for Christmas. So we hope everyone will come and find some great treasures.”

All proceeds will go back to the Friends for purchases for the library to use. The book sale will be in the basement of the library during normal hours, and it will be open an additional Monday evening from 6 to 8pm.
