The recent Greene County Fair Foundation dinner and auction proved to be another success.

The event was held last month and Greene County Fair Board Secretary Doug Hawn says they brought in over $70,000. There were over 100 people that bid on over 80 live and silent auction items. The auction closed out the capital campaign improvement project to replace the livestock buildings on the Greene County Fairgrounds. Hawn notes that since they began their campaign in 2014, they’ve netted over $750,000, which they’ve used to build new swine, sheep and goat, and most recently two cattle barns. Plus smaller projects included adding concrete sidewalks to connect the new cattle barns.

Hawn thanks everyone for their support during the last four years as they held their auction and dinner event. He adds that the new livestock buildings will enhance the facility for several years and make the fairgrounds a safer place for friends and family to enjoy the county fair.
