IMG_3823 (1)A late weekend crash resulted in no injuries after a car slid off Interstate-80 east of Stuart Sunday evening.

Just after 6pm, a blue Ford Taurus with Iowa plates was driving westbound when it left the road and entered the north ditch just east of mile marker 96. An Adair County Sheriff’s Deputy tells Raccoon Valley Radio the vehicle was likely nudged off the road accidentally after the driver of the Taurus was attempting to pass a semi in the right lane. Though no official cause could be determined at this time.

The driver was the only occupant of the vehicle and no other vehicles were involved in the incident. The front and driver’s side of the car was damaged but the driver walked out of the vehicle unharmed. The name of the driver was not given at this time and no citations are likely to be issued. The Stuart and Dexter Fire Departments as well as Stuart Rescue assisted at the scene.
