Stuart FD SignDon’t be alarmed to see some fire trucks at Stuart Elementary next Monday. Twelve students will be riding the trucks to school as part of a Fire Prevention Week poster contest.

Stuart Fire Chief Mike Renslow tells Raccoon Valley Radio posters were given to the students to color, “And the winners of each grade will actually be brought to the firehouse, eat breakfast with the firemen and that Monday [be] taken to school on the fire trucks. And they’ll get a stocking hat beanie and water bottle and the overall winner of Stuart Elementary will be submitted to the state contest.”

The fifth grade contest winners are Kiernan Hutton and Faith Thomas, fourth grade winners are Colden Martinson and Dominic Colin, third grade winners are Olivia Lewis and Aydin Brown, second grade winners are Ryan Forcht and Jasper Algreen, first grade winners are Sophia Guerrero and Ella Ortiz, and kindergartner winners are Karon Renslow and Alexander Dougherty. Fire Prevention Week runs October 7-13 and this year’s theme is, “Look. Listen. Learn. Be aware. Fire can happen anywhere.”
