
Steady rain falling across central Iowa since last Friday has caused officials at Ballard Community Schools to postpone today’s annual Raccoon River Conference Cross Country Invitational. The ADM Activities Department shared the information on their Twitter account Monday afternoon. Parts of Story County have received 1.57 inches of rain since Friday with more precipitation forecasted for the area today. The group’s athletic directors are discussing a conference makeup race for this Thursday with a location and race to be determined.
The ADM cross country teams latest race was last Thursday in the annual Atlantic Cross Country Invite. The Tiger boys squad finished seventh out of 22 teams competing with 203 points. Sophomores Nate Mueller and Ethan Jurgens both finished in the top five of the individual race. Mueller was the runner-up medalist with a time of 16:23; Jurgens placed fourth overall at 16:54. The ADM girls squad finished 18th out of 20 teams with a team score of 472. Sophomore Hannah Welch was ADM’s top girls’ finisher, placing 64th overall at 21:45.
