The Dallas County Board of Supervisors convened Tuesday morning in regular session.
During open forum, County Recorder Chad Airhart addressed the Board, letting them know his department spent the last weekend getting moved into their new temporary space in the courthouse. The stage is now set for juvenile courts and the Clerk of Court to move to the west side of the second floor in the near future, once the floor plans are finalized.
Several items on the agenda involved the Human Resources Department, starting with payroll change notices. HR Director Erin Freeman said the Emergency Medical Services Department recently promoted two internal employees to paramedic positions, adding that the memorandum of understanding the Board approved a few months ago for the department has proven successful. After that, the Board approved the annual health screening and blood draw for County employees, which will be this Thursday from 7-9 a.m. at the Human Services Campus. Freeman also took the Supervisors through an HR workshop, focusing on position classifications, updates to hiring policies, and the health insurance plan.
Additionally, the Board approved four operating transfer requests, and set the times for three public hearings for October 30th. Hearings for easements along the Raccoon River Valley Trail for access and underground electric with MidAmerican Energy will be held at 9:30 and 9:45 a.m., respectively, while a maintenance agreement for a pioneer cemetery on private property was set for 10. Finally, the Supervisors continued discussion but took no action regarding the service coordinator position for area 1A of the Healthcare Coalition.
