The defense of the Panorama Panther varsity football team was key in the squad securing a winning 2018 season last Friday. The Panthers defense forced nine total turnovers against the West Central Valley Wildcats in a 29-8 victory in Stuart. Senior Gracen Welburg closed his high school football career with four total turnovers, taking one fumble recovery 59 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter. Sophomore Domonic Walker caught two interceptions, taking one back 21 yards for a first-quarter touchdown. Sophomore Zach Rizzuti registered a single interception and fumble recovery against the Wildcats. Sophomore Trent Hambleton recovered a fumble as well. The win closed Panorama’s 2018 varsity football season with a 5-4 record, a two-win improvement from last season. The Panthers will graduate 10 players from this year’s program.
