Friday, October 26th

11:22am: Carroll PD requested assistance from Jefferson officers in locating a vehicle believed to be heading to Jefferson from Carroll. A “Stop and Hold” had been placed on the vehicle. The officer did not locate the vehicle in Jefferson.

12:11pm: The Greene County High School advised an officer that a male student had been caught with a vape product and a pocketknife in his possession at school. The student was given a 6-day suspension from School. The officer followed up with a citation for, “Minor Possessing Tobacco/Vapor Products- 1st Offense.”

1:30pm: An officer investigating a Two Vehicle Property Damage Accident at the High School, located at 101 Ram Drive. A 2000 Windstar Charter Bus, owned by Windstar and operated by Joseph Smith of Lohrville, sideswiped a parked vehicle in the lot. The 2001 Pontiac Bonneville was owned by Jeff Lamoreaux of Jefferson. Both vehicles suffered a reported $2000.00 each in the accident, which occurred on private property. No citation issued.

3:51pm: An officer investigated a Two Vehicle Property Damage Accident at Elm and Harrison Streets. Brianna Osterson was westbound on Harrison Street in her

2003 Oldsmobile Alero. Osterson stopped at the posted Stop Sign at Harrison and Elm Street. Osterson left the stop sign and entered Elm Street in the path of an oncoming southbound vehicle. The two collided in the intersection. The 2011 Dodge Caravan was owned and operated by Maigan Haley of Jefferson. Both vehicles had a reported $1000.00 in damages. Osterson was cited for, “Fail to Obey Stop Sign.”

8:36pm: Officers investigated a Rear End Accident on the overpass in the 600 Block of North Elm Street. Michael Poggemiller of Burlington was northbound on Elm Street in his 2010 Dodge Ram. As he was crossing over the overpass he was struck in the rear by another vehicle. The 2015 Nissan Altima, owned and operated by Ruth Fischer of Paton, suffered a reported $2000.00 in front end damage. Poggemiller’s vehicle had light rear end damage, estimated at $100.00 in damage. The officer’s investigation led to the arrest of Ruth Fischer, 42 of Paton for, “OWI 1st Offense – Serious, and Fail to Stop Within an Assured Clear Distance Ahead – Simple.”

Saturday, October 27th

12:27am: An officer responded to a Business Alarm Activation at 106 West Washington Street, Suite 3. The officer found the building to be secure.

4:52am: Casey’s reported a Shoplifting Event at 508 North Elm Street. A male entered the store. He had two drink items in his hands as he walked through the business. He does not place one item back in store video, but only has one item at the counter when he paid. The officer spoke to the male suspect a short time later. He advised he placed the item on a candy shelf and only bought the one item. The store employees, or video of the encounter support this scenario. The male returned to the store later in the day and threw a $5.00 bill at the manager and apologized for the inconvenience. Charges are still pending against the male at this time.

7:05am: An officer assisted EMS with a Medical Call in the 1200 Block of Southfield Drive.

2:13pm: Barbara Krueger reported a stray dog near Olive and Park Streets. The officer returned the dog to its owner, with a time period given to license the animal.

8:23pm: Don Ganoe of California reported the possible Theft of Fuel from his airplane while parked at the Jefferson Municipal Airport. The officer is investigating the reported event.

8:35pm: A caller advised of Barking Dogs in the 400 Block of North Pinet Street. The officer located the animals and spoke to the owner at 403 North Pinet Street. The animals were taken inside for the evening to end the situation.

11:55pm: Jason Zepp reported a motorcycle sitting in his driveway at 907 West Harrison Street. He did not know who it belonged to. The officer ran the plate and advised him of the owner’s name. Zepp knew the subject and advised it was fine there.

Sunday, October 28th

1:41am: Samantha Gliem reported hearing someone in her attic at 404 north Vine. The officers checked the attic and noticed animal droppings, but no one else present.

1:32pm: Mary Ambrose spoke with an officer about a Civil Property Issue occurring at 1503 North Elm Street. She advised to seek an attorney.

3:16pm: Alexis Jordan called and advised of a Domestic Assault occurring in Scranton. The Sheriff’s Office was given the complaint.

3:35pm: Cassie Fowler reported a vehicle Driving Erratically at the High School Parking Lot. The officer did not locate the reported vehicle in the area.

3:47pm: Michael Richards requested officers to conduct a Welfare Check on a male at the Daubendiek Park area. Officers contacted the male, who was fine.

3:54pm: The A&W reported a male attempted to pass a Counterfeit $20.00 Bill at the business. The male took off and left the bill when he was advised it was counterfeit. The store is gathering video for the officer of the event.

6:06pm: Sheri Delp reported a stray dog in Washington Park. The owner retrieved the animal before the officer could arrive in the area.

6:30pm: Officers assisted a female who had locked themselves out of an apartment at 302 Greenewood Road. The officers were able to open the apartment with a Master Key kept at the LEC.
