A concert featuring over 30 instruments will be performed by one man at the Saints Center in Stuart next weekend.

Global instrumentalist Todd Green will be performing original music inspired by different cultures in the Middle East, Central Asia, Far East, and South America. With a custom-built electronic looping system Green is able to layer acoustic string, flute, and percussion instruments as he performs, turning him into a one-man band.

Green last appeared at the Saints Center last year for a minimal lecture demonstration of his instruments. Green says he typically doesn’t perform at the same venue two years in a row, but he was blown away by the former church’s acoustics, equating it to the Taj Mahal, “It completely changed the way I was playing that evening because I would just let notes ring and hang in the air. It was almost like you could see them floating around in that huge space and I’m really looking forward to it. I mean of all the concerts of this whole tour this has been the one I’ve been looking forward to seeing how this is going to look with my full setup.”

Green will be performing at 7 p.m. Saturday, November 10th. Admission is $10 for adults, $7 for seniors, and $5 for students. The performance is sponsored by the Iowa Arts Council and the Stuart Hotel/Motel Tax Grant.
