A Jefferson man was recently sentenced to serve time in jail and then be placed on probation for an April incident.

According to court documents, 33-year-old Mitchell Venteicher pled guilty to a Class D Felony for third degree burglary and an aggravated misdemeanor for driving while barred. Court documents show that Venteicher was sentenced to serve 30-days in Greene County Jail, with credit for time already served, on the misdemeanor charge, while also paying a $10 DARE fee and $125 law enforcement surcharge. He will also be placed on two years of probation with the Department of Correction Services for the felony charge and will pay victim restitution and court costs.

The charges stem from an investigation by the Greene County Sheriff’s office on an incident that took place on April 13th. Venteicher entered his employer’s office, during non-working hours. Surveillance video showed Venteicher looked through documents, and looked on his employer’s computer, before leaving in his vehicle that he was barred from driving.
