This is the first day of official high school girls’ basketball practice across Iowa and Greene County High School has a new coach. It’s Tyler Westhoff and this is his first girls’ basketball coaching job, although he’s coached boys at a previous stop.
The 2017-18 Rams were 5-16 overall and 2-12 in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference. The Rams started well enough last season under then-head coach Dean Lyons by winning three of their first four games. Victories were tough to come by after the quick start, and the Rams lost their last eight games.
Less than 10 of the 35 points per game the Rams scored last year are returning. Junior Izzy Bravard 4.4 points per game and is the leading returning scorer.
Jeff Lamoureux returns as the assistant coach.
