From The Ordnung to Rumspringer, a plethora of topics will be discussed about Our Neighbors, the Amish, today at the Stuart Public Library.
All ages are welcome to learn about the Amish people such as their lifestyle, religion, and language. The program is being presented by Don and Dianne Kramer of Dyersville, and Library Director Lisa Sherman mentions the goodies they’ll be providing, “They are going to be bringing Amish bakery items. She promised five dozen cookies, and that’s three different kinds of cookies and then four breads. So we are going to be making a big pot of coffee and it is probably geared more towards adults, that’s why we had it that time of the day.”
The treats will be served during a break in the presentation, which takes place from 2-4 p.m. at the library. The Kramers are also holding a presentation at the Casey Public Library from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday. These events are free and open to the public.
