The official start of the winter sports season in Iowa is today with the opening of preseason girls basketball practice all across the Hawkeye State. In Stuart, the West Central Valley Wildcats varsity squad is gearing up for their fifth season under head coach Drew Stonewall. The Wildcats posted a 9-12 overall record during the 2017-18 season last winter and graduated four players off the team in May. Among the graduates was last year’s leading scorer and second best rebounder Grace Dupuy. The Raccoon Valley Radio Network will have Coach Stonewall as a guest on tonight’s Wahl McAtee Tire and Service Center Guthrie County PM Sports, beginning at 6 p.m. on True Country K 107.9.
