Guthrie Center residents both young and old can escape the chillier weather and attend a variety of events this week at the Mary J. Barnett Memorial Library.

The first event takes place Tuesday afternoon as Library Director Pat Sleister explains, “Ronda Weber is the person that’s in charge of our children’s programming and she’s just got a wonderful list of things. We have one Tuesday night the kids can come and there’s Lego Club, another Tuesday Night they can come and we have an after-school movie with popcorn and everything that goes with that, and then the third Tuesday night we have Kids Club and they always have some kind of a special activity.”

All Tuesday kids events start at 3:45 and last approximately until 5 p.m. Then it’s the adults’ turn to have fun as the library will host their monthly card making class Thursday from 9-11 a.m. with a $5 fee for supplies. An adult movie event is also taking place this Sunday at 4 p.m. To preregister for any of these events call the library at 641-747-8110.
