The newly formed Iowa Print Sports Writers Association released their 2018 football All-State teams Tuesday and two Greene County players were named to the Class 2A first team. Senior Bryce Hoyle was named to the first team defense as a lineman and junior Tyler Miller was named a first team offensive lineman. Both were instrumental in helping the Rams go from 1-8 in 2017 to an 8-1 regular season in 2018, a 2A playoff berth, and an overall record of eight wins and two losses.

Hoyle, listed at 5′ 9″, 210 lbs. was earlier named Co-Defensive Player of the Year in District 9. Rams’ head coach Mitch Moore told Raccoon Valley Radio that Hoyle was one of the fastest Iowa high school defensive lineman getting off the ball he’s ever seen. Hoyle had 40 solo tackles and 49 assisted stops in 10 games, including 16 solo tackles for loss and eight assisted tackles for loss. Included were three solo quarterback sacks and one assisted sack.

Miller is currently regarded as a three-star Division I recruit at offensive left tackle. Listed at 6′ 9″ and 282, he has several DI offers on the table. Instrumental in both run blocking and pass protecting, Miller helped the Rams total 405 yards of offense and more than 37 points per game.
