The Greene County High School basketball teams have today off for Thanksgiving, then they’ll be busy preparing for the start of the 2018-19 seasons. Once the Rams start playing, they’ll be busy with not one, not two, but three, girl/boy doubleheaders on the schedule for next week.
Chris Nelson is head coach of the boys and he talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about his practice schedule. “The players have today off, but we’ll come back and practice tomorrow and run some of that turkey off. We’ll also have practice Saturday because we want to make sure the kids know what we’ll be doing when the season starts on Monday. We then go Tuesday and Friday, so it’ll be a full week.”
The Rams host Ogden on Monday, go to Perry Tuesday, then open Heart of Iowa Activities Conference play on Friday, Nov. 30 in Jewell vs. South Hamilton. All are girl/boy doubleheaders and all can be heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. Coverage begins at 5:45 p.m. with the girls playing at 6 p.m. and the boys to follow.
