West Central Valley head girls basketball coach Drew Stonewall said team rebounding would be essential for success during the 2018-19 season. Rebounding was one of the statical categories the Nodaway Valley Wolverines won handily over the Wildcats during last Tuesday 58-34 victory in Greenfield. The Wolverines outrebounds the Wildcats 38-27 in the contest; Each squad grabbed 11 offensive rebounds with Nodaway Valley securing 27 defensive boards to West Central Valley’s 16. Four Wildcats registered four or more rebounds in the loss. Senior Joelle Grubbs and junior Jenna Merical tied for the team lead with five rebounds, while junior Sydney Neal and sophomore Presley Pivonka had four rebounds apiece. The Wildcats will wait until Friday to resume their regular season schedule, traveling to Boone County for their West Central Activities Conference opener versus the Ogden Bulldogs.
