It was another winless night for the Perry varsity basketball teams, as the girls fell 62-19 and the boys lost 83-28 in a Raccoon River Conference doubleheader Friday night at Carlisle.

Junior Molly Lutmer accounted for 13 of the Jayettes’ 19 points on the night, most of which came in the second half. She and the girls team had no answer for the balanced inside-out scoring of the Wildcats. Perry trailed 17-6 after one quarter and were held scoreless in the second, entering halftime down 36-6. A running clock made quick work of the second half, and the Jayettes were behind 52-15 after three, and finished the game with a 62-19 loss. Carlisle junior Kennedy Preston led all scorers with 18 points, scoring 9 in each half.

In the boys game, the Bluejays were dominated by senior Collin Lister on both ends of the court. Lister outscored the entire Perry team by himself, netting 37 points to go with a handful of steals and assists. The Bluejays started slow on offense, only scoring two points in the first quarter, trailing 19-2 after one. They scored most of their points in the second quarter, but still entered halftime down 48-15. Even with a running clock the entirety of the second half, the deficit only grew as Lister and the Wildcats poured it on, leading 70-24 after three before ending the game with an 83-28 victory. Perry senior Alex Morales led the Bluejays with 9 points.

The losses drop the girls team to 1-6 and boys to 0-5. The next game for both will be Tuesday at Norwalk. The doubleheader will be broadcast live on AM 1310, FM 99.7 KDLS, with pre-game starting at 5:45 p.m.
