This weekend Jefferson Hy-Vee and Hormel Foods are teaming up to make area residents’ holidays a little brighter.

Hy-Vee Store Director Lori Subbert says they will be giving away 100 free cured hams to the first 100 people this Saturday right outside of Hy-Vee from 2 to 3:30pm. She points out that the giveaway is intended for those less fortunate families and it’s a nice way for Hy-Vee to give back.

“It’s an honor to be able to be chosen as one of the stops with the partnership with Hormel and Hy-Vee. And I’m very blessed and I’m looking forward to being able to help out the community.”

She adds that this is the first time that Hy-Vee Corporate has selected the Jefferson location to be on the route for the free ham giveaway. Local law enforcement, first responders and emergency medical personnel will also be on-hand giving out the free hams to residents and families.
