With this year’s Raccoon Valley Radio Caring Christmas Food Drive, we’ve seen several cases that prove generosity is contagious, with the latest example being this past Friday and Saturday at the Adel and Waukee locations of Peoples Savings Bank.
Prior to the live broadcast at the Adel Peoples Bank Friday afternoon, Courtney Marks, the Vice President and Director of Marketing and Retail Banking, found out about the $500 matching donation offered by Hotel Pattee Owner Tom Maxwell, which resulted in a $1,050 donation to the Perry Area Food Pantry. Marks decided Peoples Bank would offer matching funds of their own during their two days of the food drive. $50 was raised the first day for an initial donation of $100, but things picked up the next day in Waukee. Two Peoples Bank executives offered to personally match any $100 donation that day, which was met when a listener stopped by that morning.
That one donation kicked in the two personal matching donations, as well as $300 from the bank itself, bringing the total from the two days to $700. Marks said they’ll keep the offer to match funds going until the $500 is met. Anyone interested in contributing can do so at any of the four locations participating in the Caring Christmas Food Drive, which include Adel, Waukee, Guthrie Center, and Clive.
