Generosity on the hardwood can often be contagious, and the infection is starting to spread rapidly throughout the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers girls and boys basketball programs. Three games into the Raccoon River Conference season and both Tiger varsity basketball teams are sitting atop the standings with perfect league records. The ADM girls basketball team tallied 16 dimes in a 67-37 victory over the Carlisle Wildcats Tuesday night. The Tigers enter league play tonight in Perry leading the league with 80 total assists in seven games. Senior Kristen Baier told Raccoon Valley Radio she’s seen a noticeable difference in the team sharing the ball recently. “In the past couple of games we’ve been really working off each other really well and getting a lot of assists and a lot of points off that,” Baier said, “Seeing my teammates help each other out and that its a team sport and that it’s collectively all of our contributions to the team is super rewarding for me.”

Unselfish play is at the core of the ADM boys basketball team’s improved season this winter. Tuesday’s 66-60 victory over the Carlisle Wildcats was the third win for ADM this young basketball season, matching their win total from last winter. ADM’s 49 assists in league games leads the Raccoon River Conference entering play tonight against Perry. The longtime league rival represents the quarter way point of the conference season for ADM.
