The Perry Police Department recently did their part to make the holidays a little brighter and warmer for area kids, as they banded together to donate coats to children in need.
Last Thursday, Sergeant Jim Archer and School Resource Officer Josh Sienkiewicz took 20 new and gently used coats, as well as several hats and gloves, to Perry Elementary School. The winter clothing was donated by members of the police department, who had learned there was a dire need for coats at the school. The Elementary staff was very appreciative of the gesture, especially as the weather is threatening to turn colder. The officers said they were happy to help out, and were confident the coats, hats, and gloves will be put to good use.
