As we celebrate Christmas tomorrow, several offices and businesses will be closed in Jefferson.

The Greene County Courthouse, Greene County Extension office, Greene County Chamber and Tourism office and the Jefferson Public Library are all closed today and tomorrow. The Jefferson City Hall will be closing today at noon and the Greene County Community Center will be closing at 3pm. Then tomorrow City Hall, the community center and the Jefferson Post Office will all be closed in observance of the holiday.

Jefferson Library staff reminds everyone that nothing is due to the library when it is closed for a holiday. Jefferson City staff reminds residents that garbage routes will be delayed by one day starting Wednesday. Garbage routes will go back to their normal schedules next week.

Residents need to have their garbage out at curbside by 6am to ensure that it is picked up.
