Guthrie County residents are reminded of a free service provided for those who use well water.

Guthrie County Environmental Health is offering free well water tests year round, thanks to financial assistance from the Grants to Counties Water Well Program. Environmental Health Director Jotham Arber encourages residents to get their wells tested because it helps them to understand what they are consuming on a daily basis. The tests can check for health risks such as bacteria and nitrates. Guthrie County Environmental Health also offers well plugging and rehabilitation services to residents of Guthrie, Adair, Audubon, and Cass counties. To schedule a well-water test call 641-747-3972.
