Two improving Raccoon River Conference varsity girls basketball teams square off in Polk County tomorrow. The Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers put their undefeated league record on the line when they visit the Bondurant-Farrar Bluejays. The Tigers and Bluejays are among the pleasant surprises of the conference basketball season to this point. The two squads combined for 14 total wins before the holiday break after accounting for 17 wins during the entirety of the 2017-18 season. Both ADM and Bondurant-Farrar are much improved offensively compared to a year ago. ADM, who ranked sixth in the league last year at 41 points per game, is currently the conference’s top scoring team at 57.1 points per game. Bondurant-Farrar, who finished seventh in the conference last winter in scoring, ranks third entering 2019 averaging 50.2 points per game. The Bluejays bring a 6-3 overall record into tomorrow’s game with ADM with all three losses coming by less than four points. Sophomore Avery Fried tops the Bluejays and is the conference’s second-leading scorer, registering 158 points.
