The weather the last two weeks in Greene County have been anything but comparable. Greene County Engineer Wade Weiss says late last week the secondary roads crews were out applying sand and salt to the paved county roads, when the roads were slush and ice-covered. However, this week, temperatures were in the 40’s and Weiss says crews were removing brush and cutting trees in the ditches.

He adds that this weekend with the temperatures reaching into the 50’s, crews are applying additional white rock to the gravel roads to level them off ahead of any additional snowfall that may be coming for the rest of winter.

The National Weather Service is expecting temperatures to remain in the mid to lower 40’s for the upcoming week, with the next strongest chance of snow for Greene County to be next Friday.
