First year head wrestling coach Zach Beekman watched his Greene County team start 2019 in impressive fashion. The Rams will look to keep that momentum going this week with a double dual meet on Jan. 10 in Monroe vs. Class 2A number one ranked PCM, as well as Class 1A South Hamilton (Jewell), followed by the South Hardin Invitational on Jan. 12 in Eldora.
Greene County improved to 13-7 in dual meets by going 3-0 on Jan. 3 in Ogden with victories over the host Bulldogs, Audubon, and Southeast Valley (Cowrie). They followed that up with a team title on Friday in Alleman at the North Polk Round-Robin Tournament.
The Rams scored 388 points to win at NP. Grinnell was second with 370, followed by the host Comets with 344, Waukee Junior Varsity 336, Mount Ayr 231, and Shenandoah with 44 points.
