A lopsided fourth quarter nearly cost the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers boys basketball team a road conference win Friday in Polk County. The Tigers held a 40-31 lead entering the fourth quarter against the Bondurant-Farrar Bluejays. The Tigers allowed a 22 point fourth quarter to Bondurant-Farrar but still came away with a 54-53 victory. The lead traded hands four times and was tied once more in the final two minutes. ADM took the lead for good with seven seconds left on a turnaround layup off the glass from junior Jaxson Milsap. Bondurant-Farrar’s Jalen Kruse drove into the lane the ensuing possession and had his game winning floater miss off the back iron as time expired. Forty-two of ADM’s 54 points scored were by the guard combo of senior Koby Hardcastle and sophomore Nate Mueller. The win is the fifth Raccoon River Conference win of the season for ADM, improving their overall record to 7-2. The Tigers step out of conference tomorrow for a varsity doubleheader against the Pella Little Dutch in the town of tulips. Hear the games on Raccoon Valley Radio’s True Country K 107.9, starting with pregame comments at 5:30 p.m. and the varsity girls game tipping off around 6 p.m.
