Friday, January 4th

2:25am: An officer checked on an Unlocked Storage Unit at 408 Hwy. 30 East. The unit was empty.

10:14am: A caller advised of a female digging through the Recycling Collection Bins at 401 West McKinley Street. The officer made contact with the female, who advised she was sorting items that were placed in wrong bins.

10:26am: Jefferson Officers were assisted by Greene and Guthrie County Deputies in the execution of a Search Warrant at 112 North Street in Bayard. The warrant comes from an investigation into a Burglary and stolen items, along with stolen checks from a Jefferson residence. The crime was reported to JPD on 12/14/2018. Several checks were forged and used in business in Greene and Carroll Counties. Charges are pending the end of the investigation.

11:01am: The GCMC ER reported a child there with a dog bite. The officer arrived and learned the youngster had reached over a fence to pet the animal, when the animal bit him. The animal is current on vaccinations did not violate any Jefferson Animal Ordinances.

11:01am: Casey’s reported a Gas Drive Off in the amount of $31.75 from 508 North Elm Street. The officer has made contact with a female in Adel, who advised she will come back and pay the debt.

1:34pm: Darren Charleson reported a female sleeping in a van at 1000 West Lincoln Way. The officer made contact with the female, who was fine and went on her way.

4:06pm: Medicap reported large amounts of smoke in the area of Elm and Adams Street. The officer made contact with a homeowner in the area, who was burning leaves.

4:20pm: Ashley Scanlon reported receiving a Scam Phone Call in which she was threatened to be imprisoned and fined $90,000.00. She did not give any requested bank information and did not incur a loss.

6:36pm: The Wild Rose Casino requested an officer at 777 Wild Rose Lane for an Intoxicated Female, who was refusing to leave as asked. When the officer arrived, casino staff advised the female had gone back to her room at the Cobble Stone Hotel and was no longer an issue.

10:31pm: An officer checked the residence of 700 West Washington Street after a 911 Hang Up Call. All was fine at the residence and 911 had been called by accident.

Saturday, January 5th

8:08am: An officer performed a Funeral Escort.

11:33am: Rhonda Kendall brought a stray dog to the LEC she had located running freely in Jefferson. The animal was placed in the Animal Holding Facility.

2:20pm: Casey’s reported a Trespassed Male was back on their property at 508 North Elm Street. The officer was unable to locate the male, who left before the officer arrived in the area.

5:08pm: A caller requested Extra Patrol in the 1000 Block of North West Street after she believed someone attempted to break into her garage.

5:29pm: An officer assisted EMS with a Medical Call in the 700 Block of West Monroe Street.

6:15pm: Heath Telleen advised of a stray dog he caught at 1310 Riverside Drive. The officer placed the animal in the Animal Holding Facility.

6:35pm: An officer, along with several residents, heard a loud explosion near Grimmell and Russell. The officer could not locate the source of the sound.

8:03pm: An officer performed a Traffic Stop at Central and Grimmell with a vehicle which had no registration plates. The officer’s investigation led to the arrest of Keenan Lee Olson, 20 of Coon Rapids for, “Possession of Alcohol by Person 18/19/20 – Simple, Carrying Weapons – Aggravated, Driving While Suspended – Simple, Improper Rear Lamps – Simple, Operation without Registration – Simple, and Fail to Provide Proof of Financial Liability – Simple.”

10:03pm: Laurie Higgins spoke to an officer about a Civil Roommate Issue occurring at 503 East Monroe. She was advised to seek an attorney.

11:00pm: Dawn Hoskins spoke to an officer about a vehicle parked at her property at 603 West State Street. The officer advised Hoskins of the registered owner of the vehicle. She knew them and advised the vehicle was fine there.

11:29pm: Lauren Schulte reported a Trailer Fire at 108 East Central Ave, Lot 58. Jefferson Fire and the officer arrived and learned Schulte had put the small fire out. A candle was believed to have been knocked off of a table and set a small area of the carpet on fire. Damage was minimal.

Sunday, January 6th

8:21am: A Traffic Stop was performed at Cedar and Head Streets resulting in George Joseph Glasgow of Grand Junction being cited for, “Excessive Speed, Driving While Suspended, Fail to Provide Proof of Financial Liability, and Operation without Registration.”

10:14am: An officer was sitting and running Stationary Radar in the 800 Block of East Lincoln Way Street, when a vehicle approached him and stopped. The officer knew the male driver from a Traffic Stop a few hours prior. The officer had learned after the previous stop that the male had an Outstanding Greene County Arrest Warrant. George Joseph Glasgow, 47 of Grand Junction was arrested for the “Probation Violation Arrest Warrant.”

2:35pm: Casey’s advised a male had attempted to pass a Counterfeit $100.00 Bill at 508 North Elm Street. The officer has developed a suspect and is investigating the event.
