With Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday coming up on Monday, several offices and businesses will be closed in Jefferson.

Jefferson City Hall, Jefferson Public Library, Greene County Extension office and the Jefferson Post Office will all be closed in observance of the holiday. Library staff reminds everyone that nothing is due to the library when it is closed for a holiday. Jefferson City staff reminds residents that garbage routes will be delayed by one day due to the holiday. Garbage routes will then go back to normal schedules the following week. Residents are to have their garbage out at curbside by 6am to ensure that it is picked up.
