The ACGC basketball teams made the short trip east to Panora Thursday night for a Guthrie County showdown against the Panorama Panthers. The Panthers swept the Chargers for the night and the season.
The Panorama boys used a 7-0 run at the start of the fourth quarter to get the victory over the Chargers, 60-48. Panorama sophomore Zach Rizzuti once again led all scores with 21 points. Junior Kolby Shackelford added 13 points while senior Gracen Welberg chipped in eight for the Panthers.
A pair of Chargers led the scoring for the gold and black. Junior Quynton Younker and sophomore Eli Kading each had twelve points to lead all Chargers. Junior Bryce Littler also added eight points for ACGC in the setback.
After trading the lead a couple times in the first quarter, the Panthers never let it get to within five points. Panorama led at the end of the first half, 24-16, and at the end of the third quarter, 43-34. The Panthers improve to 6-8 (5-6) while the Chargers fall to 4-11 (2-10). The Panorama girls also cruised past the Chargers, 68-27. Both teams will host non-conference matchups on Monday. ACGC welcomes Southwest Valley while Panorama hosts Nodaway Valley.
