Two Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center High School students recently performed in the 2019 Southwest Iowa Honor Band.

Senior Malena Rumelhart and freshman Alaina Bunde were selected as members of the band after they prepared selected materials and performed for judges last December. Students are eligible to audition for the SWIBA Honor Band from 7th-12th grade. Instrumental Music Director Kyra Babcock said Rumelhart and Bunde have auditioned every eligible year and have been selected every year. Only the top one-third of students auditioning are chosen for the band. Rumelhart performed mallets and Bunde played flute at the honor band festival in Atlantic last Monday.
