Heather Bruce (center, with scissors) cuts the ceremonial ribbon Wednesday morning to welcome Osmundson Manufacturing to the Perry Chamber, and her as the new owner

Despite the extremely cold weather yesterday, several members of the Perry community and the Chamber of Commerce made their way to Osmundson Manufacturing for a ribbon cutting ceremony.

The event was to officially welcome the 115-year-old business into the Chamber, as well as celebrate new owner Heather Bruce officially taking over the company. Bruce talked briefly about the transition of ownership from her father to herself, and also discussed where the company is headed from here. Bruce said she’s excited to have Osmundson be a Chamber member, and she’s looking forward to guiding the company into the future. “It’s nice that we get to be a part of it and do more with the town. We’ve always done things in the town, it’s just nice to actually be able to do a little bit more. And then I think everything went really well (with the transition), and that as an owner it’s going to be nice to see the company move forward.”

Bruce will officially take over as the owner of Osmundson at midnight tonight, and she says the company already has plans in the works to make their way into other industries and expand their business. She was thankful to the members of the community who braved the cold to welcome the company into the Chamber and to celebrate the new ownership.
