A sentence hearing has been scheduled for a Jefferson man charged with a sex act against his sister.

According to court documents, 21-year-old Noah Exline entered a guilty plea to a lesser charge of an aggravated misdemeanor for indecent contact with a child. Online court records show that Exline will have his sentence hearing on February 22nd at 11:30am in Greene County District Court. Court documents show that Exline admitted that the incident happened on or around June of 2016, when he was 18-years-old or older.

Exline was originally charged with seven Class B Felonies for second degree sexual abuse. His sister Paige was one of the two victims that died in a house fire in Guthrie Center in May of 2017. Greene County Attorney Thomas Laehn, who was part of the prosecution of the case, previously said one of the reasons why they negotiated a plea deal for Exline was he gave key testimony in the trial against his step-brother Patrick Thompson. Without his testimony, Laehn said they wouldn’t have gotten a guilty verdict by jury for two counts of murder on Thompson and two counts of attempted murder.

The plea agreement is a suspended two year prison sentence, and probation for three years. Exline has agreed to pay a minimum fine of $625, along with surcharges, court costs and attorney fees.
