The first year head coach of the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers varsity girls basketball team saw winning potential with this year’s squad. Jacob Cleveland took over the ADM girls basketball program in mid-October after the Tigers posted a 9-14 record under former head coach Rick Dillinger. Friday’s 49-37 road victory over the Boone Toreadors was ADM’s 14 victory this winter and guaranteed the Tigers a single-digit loss season. The Raccoon Valley Radio Network asked Cleveland after Friday’s game if, in his most optimistic outlook, he could see ADM having this much success this winter. “Yeah,” Cleveland said, “I looked at the stats of the team that went (9-14) and (almost) everyone was coming back, we had two double-digit scorers (returning), we could put something together.”

ADM opens their playoff run in the Class 4A Region 8 tournament tomorrow evening, hosting the Carlisle Wildcats (10-10 overall). The two Raccoon River Conference members split their two-game league series with the home team winning each contest. The Raccoon Valley Radio Network will provide live play by play coverage of the game on True Country K 107.9, raccoonvalleyradio.com, and the KKRF mobile app. Pregame coverage starts at 6:30 p.m. and the contest tips off around 7 p.m. from ADM’s North Gym in Adel.
