Dallas County Habitat for Humanity is looking for a future homeowner to partner with in building a new house within the next year, and they are hosting a trio of upcoming informational meetings.

Habitat Coordinator Omar Padilla says the meetings will each be held from 6-8 p.m. at the Perry Public Library, with the first taking place on Thursday, February 21st, the second on Saturday, March 9th, and the last on Thursday, April 4th. Padilla says the purpose of the meetings is to teach interested individuals how the program works, answer any questions, and possibly help them fill out an application. “If we can find one family who wants to commit to going through the process and partnering with Habitat, we would love to build at least one house in 2020. So that’s what we’re really looking for. If more than one family comes to the meeting as interested, and they’re committed to going through this process with us, we can have that conversation about more than one house.”

Padilla adds, Habitat is currently building two new houses in Perry, which he says will be finished during this calendar year. To learn more about Dallas County Habitat for Humanity, listen to today’s Perry Fareway Let’s Talk Dallas County program on air and at RaccoonValleyRadio.com.
