
The Boone Toreadors defeated Perry for the third time this season Wednesday night in the opener of 4A Regional action by a final score of 60-32. The Jayettes struggled from the floor in the first quarter scoring just field goal on eleven attempts. Boone jumped out to a 15-2 first quarter lead. Perry managed to get their legs in the second quarter cutting the deficit to seven on two different occasions before Boone ended the quarter on an 8-2 run.
The Toreadors maintained a double digit lead in the second half as 11 points was as close as Perry could come. Freshman Jayna Kenney led the Jayettes with 13 points while Molly Lutmer added 8 points and Ainsley Marburger scored 6 points on a pair of three point baskets.
Boone was led by senior Maddie Danner’s 16 points.
The Toreadors improve to 13-8 and will travel to Gilbert Saturday night. Perry closes the season 1-20 and will lose two seniors in Gabbie West and Lillian Robles.
