It’s time for the 15 Class 2A wrestlers from the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area to take the mats at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines. Nine are in the 2:30 p.m. quarterfinals with six more in the second consolation round. Wrestlers losing their quarterfinal matches drop into the second consolation round as well. Win in the quarterfinals and no worse than sixth place is guaranteed, and winning it all is still within reach. A loss in the second quarterfinal round ends a wrestler’s tournament, but a victory in that round means a finish anywhere from third through eighth.
