The 12th annual Raccoon River Valley Trail Association banquet is coming soon, and Dallas County Conservation encourages potential attendees to get their tickets now.
The event will be held Saturday, February 23rd at the Marriott Hotel in West Des Moines. It serves as the lone fundraiser of the year for the Association, which supports the advertising, website, social media, and other promotions for the trail. Conservation Outreach Coordinator Ken Keffer talks about some of the festivities for the evening. “It’s a lot of fun, you know, it’s one of those events where you got live auction, (and) silent auction folks are out there. This year the Master of Ceremonies is going to be Kevin Cooney, kind of a longtime central Iowa legend. We’ve got a speaker as well, with Jeff Johnson, the President and CEO of the Iowa State University Alumni Association. So Jeff will give a great speech, a little presentation, we’ve got lots of great auction items this year. So it should be great fun, and people need to get their tickets, they can get those online or call our office.”
Tickets for the banquet are $50 per person or $500 for a table of eight. It will begin with a social hour at 4:30 p.m., followed by a meal at 5:30. The speaker and live auction will begin at 7. Click the link below to access the online registration for the banquet.
