A milestone victory took place on the first day of the 2019 Iowa State High School Wrestling tournament for West Central Valley senior Carson Wadle. Wadle, a first-time state qualifier this winter, tallied the 100th victory of his varsity wrestling career yesterday with a second period pinfall against Audubon Luke Mosinski. The Raccoon Valley Radio Network spoke with Wadle shortly after surpassing the century mark and shared he overcame adversity along the way. “I missed my sophomore year due to an injury, so it’s been hard getting to 100 (wins),” Wadle said, “That was obviously one of the goals coming into the season, but obviously I’m not done. I got more goals that I got to reach.”

Wadle is the only Wildcat wrestler to make it to day two of the annual Iowa State wrestling tournament. Junior Justin Garcia (126) and senior Cole Sackett (152) joined Wadle as a first-time state qualifier but both lost their initial two matches. Day two of the 2019 Iowa State High School Wrestling tournament begins at 9 a.m. today from Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.
