A lopsided fourth quarter helped the Panorama Panthers girls basketball team (22-1 overall) overcome another slow postseason start. An 18-3 fourth-quarter run helped turn a three-point deficit into a 45-33 victory for Class 2A’s No. 6 ranked squad. Panorama didn’t have the lead at all during the first three quarters, taking their only advantage of the game with just over five minutes remaining in regulation. The Raccoon Valley Radio Network spoke with Panorama girls basketball coach Dan Druivenga after the game and said he liked his team’s second-half performance. “(The) first half, (we were) a little nervous, taking some poor shots again like last game,” Druivenga said, “We’ll hopefully get them settled down before Monday.”

Panorama trailed Woodward-Granger 17-14 at halftime of their playoff quarterfinal Wednesday in Panora before the Panthers used a 23-6 second-half run to punch their ticket to the semifinal round, 39-23. Senior Baliey Beckman poured in a game-high 22 points while senior Morgan Johnk added 10 in the victory. The win improves Panorama’s overall record to 22-1, advancing the Panthers to Monday’s regional championship game against the No. 7 Dike-New Hartford Wolverines. The Wolverines, a 2018 Class 2A state qualifier, topped the Van Meter Bulldogs last night in Huxley, 58-45. The Raccoon Valley Radio Network will provide live play by play coverage of the Class 2A Region 7 championship game from Johnston High School on our KKRF 2 stream at raccoonvalleyradio.com with pregame comments around 6:45 p.m. and tip-off set for 7 p.m.
