The spring sports season officially begins later today at West Central Valley Community Schools. Wildcat senior Carson Wadle closes the winter sports season in Stuart in today’s seventh-place match against Belle Plaines Ethan Allie. Both Wildcat basketball programs finished up their campaigns over the last week. Last Saturday, the West Central Valley girls basketball team dropped their regional opener against the Earlham Cardinals, 50-33. The Wildcats boys basketball program saw their season end Wednesday in the district opening contest against Panorama, 70-33. The final day of the 2019 Iowa High School State Wrestling tournament starts at 10 a.m. today from Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.
