A winter weather advisory has been issued for the entire Raccoon Valley Radio listening area, starting tonight and running through tomorrow.
The National Weather Service placed Dallas, Greene, and Guthrie counties, along with virtually every other county in Iowa, under the advisory starting at 6 p.m. today and lasting until 6 p.m. Sunday. They expect moderate snow at the beginning, which will build into prolonged light snow afterwards. Snowfall totals are expected to be between 5-7 inches, creating travel difficulties around the state. Motorists should be cautious while driving in the conditions, as roads will be slippery and visibility will be limited. The City of Perry has also announced that the snow ordinance will go into effect tonight.
Keep listening to Raccoon Valley Radio for the latest severe winter weather updates, including any cancellation and delay information.
